The Design
Alebrijes are Oaxaca's hand-carved, hand-painted fantastical creatures — hybrid animal forms combining wings, scales and horns, said to have first come to artist Pedro Linares in a fever dream in the 1930s. This case renders that folk-art energy as intricate engraved linework covering a single dynamic, curving creature, carrying the collection's original wheat-straw Alebrijes design into liquid silicone.
The design is laser-engraved directly into the shell in its own colour rather than printed, holding as a fine tonal texture that won't fade, scratch off or peel and staying completely smooth to the touch. A soft fleece lining protects the phone's back panel and camera, and the matte, soft-touch silicone gives a cushioned, anti-slip grip.
