Nasrid Pajarita Bird Case
The stylized Pajarita bird motif from the Alhambra's decorative arts, still used on shop signs around Granada today, in gold and turquoise with colorful confetti glitter.
The Design
Inside the Alhambra's decorative programme, figurative motifs are rare — most of the palace's surfaces are pure geometry and calligraphy. The Pajarita, a simplified bird built from interlocking geometric shapes, is a notable exception, and it has outlived the palace itself as a local symbol: villages around Granada still paint this same bird onto traditional shop signage today.
The bird is printed in full colour directly onto the shell, then sealed under a specialty UV-cured resin coating for a glossy, dimensional finish. Genuine heart and star confetti glitter in red, green, blue, purple and gold is set throughout the clear resin body — static, not a liquid glitter case — and the soft-base body underneath stays firm and solid to the touch.
